GPK Propane Fired Kwik Kiln®

Our propane fired Kwik Kilns® consist of a stainless steel tension-adjustable jacket surrounding an alumina silicate refractory insulation capable of sustaining temperatures up to 2300° Fahrenheit.

We offer the only modular kilns which allow for easy grasping of the crucible for lifting out and pouring, by simply removing the top and/or center section(s) of the kiln.

Each kiln is constructed in a layered or stacked configuration and is less susceptible to cracking from thermal expansion and contraction, as each layer can expand or contract separately. Also: In the hopefully unlikely event of a serious spill or boil-over of the crucible, individual sections of the kiln can be replaced at a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire kiln.

Smelt ore concentrates, melt pure metals, fire assay, cupel… you can do it all, in minutes, with one of our GPK Kwik Kilns®. We now offer 4 sizes to fit your individual needs.

 GPK (Mini) Kwik Kiln®

Features:

  • Reaches 2100°F in 10 to 15 minutes
  • Economical
  • Utilizes inexpensive propane pencil tip torches
  • Portable: Take it with you to the field and melt up to 6 ounces of your fine placer gold in the field
  • Melt pure metals or old jewelry
  • Cupel your lead prill after fire assaying

(Not recommended for smelting ore concentrates, due to the small kiln size and capacity of the crucible, along with the need for a higher flux ratio)
